Namaste and warm greetings to all MPMAANA members and families,
It is a privilege to serve as President of the Madhya Pradesh Medical Alumni Association of North America (MPMAANA) and represent this accomplished community of physicians. Our association reflects a strong legacy of medical education, service, and excellence rooted in colleges across Madhya Pradesh and carried forward by alumni worldwide.
Founded in 2008, MPMAANA has continued to grow as a dynamic organization focused on professional collaboration, mentorship, and meaningful connections. Over the past several years, especially post-COVID, member engagement has strengthened significantly. During my four years on the Board, I have seen firsthand the remarkable contributions our members make in medicine, education, research, and community service—an enduring reflection of the foundation provided by our alma maters and mentors.
The successful Annual Meeting in Myrtle Beach in August 2025, hosted by our Immediate Past President Dr. Anil Om, highlighted the strength of our alumni engagement and furthered our efforts to connect physicians across generations.
During my term, several initiatives were launched to enhance engagement. MPMAANA expanded its social media presence, thanks to the efforts of our social media team. We also launched a quarterly newsletter to share updates and member achievements; I thank Dr. Vinayak M. Kamath for serving as Chief Editor and all contributors for their support.
Mentorship remains a priority. A committee established under the leadership of Dr. Adarsh Bhan has expanded opportunities for observerships, training, and mentorship for recent graduates entering the U.S. healthcare workforce. These efforts connect students, residents, and early-career physicians with experienced mentors, and we hope to further strengthen ties with medical institutions in Madhya Pradesh to support education and professional development.
Our members also stay connected through initiatives such as the twice-monthly virtual pranayama sessions led by Mrs. Uma Bhalla and the monthly book club. I am pleased to share that we are planning bi-monthly virtual fireside chats focused on non-clinical learning from our members and invited speakers. Details will be shared via the WhatsApp group.
I strongly encourage all members and families to attend the MPMAANA Annual Alumni Meeting in Pittsburgh, August 7–9, 2025. This meeting is a key opportunity to reconnect, welcome younger alumni, exchange ideas, and help shape the future of MPMAANA. Strong attendance is essential, and our Program Planning, CME, and Entertainment Committees are working hard to make this a memorable event. Please register early, invite your batchmates, and make this meeting a priority.
Our vision is to build a stronger, more inclusive MPMAANA through increased engagement, expanded educational initiatives, and greater impact in both North America and Madhya Pradesh. This depends on your continued involvement.
In closing, I thank our volunteers, committee members, Advisory Board, and Executive Committee for their dedication. I look forward to seeing many of you in Pittsburgh.
With warm regards and best wishes,
Archana Bandi, MD.
President, MPMAANA
